PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING

Frequently, many people have a misconception of canvas work. First of all, it's not easy. It takes experience and skill. It's a craftsmanship based trade like any plumber, electrician or carpenter. It takes specialized equipment. It's also not "sewing" . . . it's stitching. There's a difference. It's also my main source of income so I can pay my mortgage and eat, so please don't approach your work as if I'm doing you a favor. Sorry to be blunt about this, but it'll save time and energy for both of us. Also please note that the cost of one-up, custom construction can't even come close to mass-produced items.

Things I will do:

  • Anything heavily stitched, both repairs and new construction (note tent size limitation). That's a long list. These web pages will explain.
  • I'll work hard to get your job done. My schedule may vary, but I'll get it done right and as fast as I can.
  • I'll color match as closely as possible, but keep in mind that color match is a PAIN. Many original items will have substantial fade. If you specifically request an exact match, there will be an upcharge since there will be research and special orders involved.
  • Give you cash back if you're the first to have a new (repro) item produced that I can reuse a pattern for. This is on an item-by-item basis and we'll work something out.

Things I won't do:

  • I don't "sew" so I don't work on apparel. It's a completely different product.
  • I don't hand stitch, crochet, knit or hand darn (fill a hole). Civil War and earlier items are limited to machine stitching.
  • I don't work on leather or shoes, although some repairs will include patches of leather that are no problem. Leatherwork is another completely different trade.
  • I won't do it wrong to keep it cheap. I only know how to do it right.
  • Listen to your sob stories about your budget. I have a budget and bills, too.

SERVICES

General Canvas Repair
Small Items - Musette Bags, Packs, Duffle Bags, Shelter Halves, etc.
Large Items - Half-Track & Deuce Cargo Area Covers, Jeep Tops, Tents, etc.
PLEASE NOTE:
I am now capable of repairs on larger tents thanks to the acquisition of a 25 inch long arm machine.
Work on something like a GP Medium or Pyramid is now possible. However, I may request customer
assistance for handling at the time of production.
Hourly Rate - $75.00

New Item Construction
All items listed above. I'll tackle just about any project from Jeep tops to
deuce covers to tents. Just keep in mind that life is in the details and details take time.
Hourly Rate - $95.00

Minimum Repair Charge
$20.00

Typical Repairs
Patching, darning, strap and webbing replacement, panel replacement, edge binding
replacement and much more. Many hardware replacements are possible such as
standard snaps and post snaps, but not all hardware is available. Please inquire.

Sunforger
 PRICING

Four types available: Regular, Boat Shrunk, Marine Finish Boat Shrunk and Car Cover Flannel.
Regular is not pre-shrunk. Boat Shrunk is water repellant and mildew resistant. Marine Finish has three times
the water repellancy and mildew resistance. Car cover is NOT intended for exterior or travel covers.

A water and mildew resistant Number Duck that remains pliable in the cold. Sulphur dyed. Not fade resistant.
Not reccommended for exterior use. Used for cot covers, musette bags, packs, etc.
